About the Event
This hike was postponed to a date in July due in part to high heat.
Join Women of the Woods (WoW) for 3-mile summer hike at this nice Middlesex Land Trust preserve. The trails at the Palmer-Taylor Preserve go through forests, fields and even a tunnel beneath an old railway line that is now the Airline Trail. I have gotten special permission for us to visit a beautiful waterfall close to the preserve. On this hike we will also spend some time learning how to read maps to avoid getting lost and what to do if you think you are lost or turned around. The trail is rocky in places and there are some ups and downs, but nothing sustained. This hike is co-sponsored by the Middlesex Land Trust. Please wear hiking shoes and bring a pack with plenty of water, and a snack. Insect repellant may be desireable.
This hike has been rescheduled from June 18. This July 9 date is not yet final.
Please consider making a donation to Everyone Outside. Suggested donation $5 to $20 per hike. We depend on donations from people like you to make our programs possible. Click here for more information on ways you can donate to Everyone Outside. Your donations keep our programs affordable and provide funding for scholarships for our other nature connection programs including our Girls Outside after-school program. Your donation is greatly appreciated!
Women of the Woods (WoW) is a program of Everyone Outside and is open to all those who identify as female or gender nonbinary. In addition to walking, we will take the time to admire the beauty around us, learn a bit about the flora or fauna, do some exercises to connect with the natural world (mostly sitting quietly) and enjoy each other's company.
Registration required. Directions will be sent to those that register and registrants will be notified via email if the hike will start at an earlier time, is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
